Board of Directors & Committees

The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is comprised of parents, staff, and community members specifically designated to advise school officials on English Learner program services. Committee members also advise the staff on the annual review and development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). ELAC Chair elections take place in the fall of each school year.

The Operations Committee looks at and provides recommendations to the Board on many different aspects to the day-to-day operations of the school. Daily bell schedules (in all forms), yearly schedule  (start and stop days for a school year) and testing schedules for state testing, are several examples. The committee also looks at facilities management and operation (for example classroom furniture). The committee is composed of interested parties representing the major groups on campus (classified staff, certificated staff, out of classroom personnel, students, parents and administration). All recommendations to the Board are based upon feedback from the interested groups.

The Student Services Committee's purpose is to develop policies to be offered to the GCH Board for its consideration on matters including but not limited to school safety, security, attendance and student needs.
