Universal Meals Program

California’s continued implementation of the Universal Meals Program makes free meal access available to all students.

This program builds upon the foundations of the federal National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP), and it brings many benefits to our entire school community. Under this program, every student attending public school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools is eligible to receive two free meals each day—breakfast and lunch. Yes, that means all students, regardless of their eligibility for free or reduced-price meals, can enjoy nutritious meals at no cost. However, Meal Applications are still a requirement for all families. Granada Hills Charter (GHC) asks all families to complete this form and ensure continued funding to support all students because the benefits of the California Universal Meals Program don't stop at meal access.
