About
Student Services: Activities
With over 100 clubs, teams, and activities, GHC fosters a student-centered environment where involvement helps build leadership, teamwork, and life skills.
Granada Hills Charter provides a broad educational experience beyond the classroom, and extracurricular activities play a crucial role in personal and academic growth. Whether through sports, academic teams, or other clubs, students are encouraged to explore their passions, develop discipline, and prepare for future challenges. These experiences often lead to lifelong memories and improved readiness for post-secondary education. View our club sheet for a complete list of school-approved clubs.
Policies & Forms
ASB
Associated Student Body
Lead. Plan. Serve. Innovate.
The Associated Student Body (ASB) serves as the student government representing students on GHC's Zelzah Campus. Participation in ASB is a privilege, with a code of conduct and eligibility requirements ensuring that academics remain a priority. Student leaders are selected for their unique talents and, through their fourth-period class, work within committees to plan and execute school activities.
Leadership Opportunities. Develop leadership skills through experience. We value the uniqueness of each individual, with leaders shaping the student body by introducing innovative ideas. Leadership success is achieved by gathering input from the student body. Each class has a President, Vice President, and several delegates who represent their peers in student council meetings. These councils are responsible for fundraising, creating class apparel, and organizing activities for their classmates.
Event Planning. Each Student Leadership event requires extensive planning to ensure every detail is carefully executed. Led by students, committees collaborate with school administrators, event planners, and other student groups to guarantee a successful event. Co-chairs, overseers, and committee members work together to set deadlines and stay on track, ensuring all aspects are well-organized.
Community Service. As student leaders, our priority is ensuring that students' voices are heard. We advocate for change by bringing campus issues to the administration’s attention. Each Student Leadership officer serves as a representative on one of five standing committees: Governing Board, Student Services, Operations, Curriculum and Instruction, and Human Resources. These committees meet monthly with department representatives to discuss agenda items, and student delegates participate alongside the officers. Students outside of the Student Leadership class can also propose changes to student or school policies during these meetings. Proposals are researched and presented with the goal of improving student life and education. This process ensures we best represent and serve the student body. For details on submitting a proposal, please contact a member of the Student Leadership class.
Innovative Projects. Student Leadership provides a platform for students to create engaging projects and introduce fresh ideas for school activities. We continuously propose new ways to enhance the educational experience by involving students in activities that build school spirit, citizenship, and self-esteem. Events like Spirit Week and Homecoming are carefully planned, with feedback from students, staff, parents, and administrators helping us improve each time. Our leaders ensure that no event is ever the same, always adding new elements to keep activities unique and exciting.
