Granada Hills Charter Community Recognized at VICA’s 76th Annual Meeting

Granada Hills Charter (GHC) was proud to be represented at the Valley Industry & Commerce Association’s (VICA) 76th Annual Meeting, a signature event that brought together hundreds of business, civic, and community leaders from across Los Angeles to reflect on the past year, recognize outstanding service, and usher in new leadership.

The annual meeting included the election and swearing-in of VICA’s 2026 Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Attendees also celebrated the organization’s continued advocacy and community impact throughout the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles region.

VICA extended its gratitude to Immediate Past Chair Lupita Sanchez Cornejo of AT&T for her dedicated leadership and service, while welcoming James Theiring of Mission Community Hospital as the 2026 Chairman of the Board.

Several individuals and organizations were honored for their exceptional contributions:

  • President’s Award: Mark Davis

  • Harmon Ballin Community Service Award: Miri Rossitto

  • Corporate Award of Excellence: Los Angeles Police Protective League

  • Membership Champion Award: Jordan Duke

The event also recognized VICA Foundation Scholarship recipients, including Granada Hills Charter senior Venice Hernandez, who was named the 2025 Melvyn A. Kohn Memorial Scholarship Recipient. Hernandez will be attending UCLA and was celebrated alongside fellow scholarship recipients Alina Barlow (UCLA), Ester Yakshyan (Los Angeles Valley College), and Bryant Tran (USC).

Alumni, students, and staff from Granada Hills Charter represented the school community with distinction. Among those pictured at the event were Venice Hernandez with Aracely Navarro (Health Net); Class of 1975 alumnus and VICA Past Chair Victor Berrellz (U.S. Bank) with Immediate Past Chair Lupita Sanchez Cornejo (AT&T); and Membership Champion Award recipient Jordan Duke with Theo Ossei Anto (Great Public Schools Now), as well as members of VICA’s 2026 Board of Directors.

The evening was made possible through the generous support of presenting sponsors Google and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, along with numerous award and event sponsors.

Granada Hills Charter congratulates all honorees and scholarship recipients and is proud to see its students, alumni, and partners recognized for their leadership, service, and commitment to the community.
