Culinary Arts Students Advance to CCAP Finals, Earn National Opportunities
Granada Hills Charter (GHC) proudly announces the success of its Culinary Arts students at the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (CCAP) Preliminary Competition, held at the Institute of Culinary Education in Pasadena.
Eight students from Granada Hills Charter—five seniors and three juniors—participated in the competition. Of the senior competitors, three advanced to the CCAP Finals, guaranteeing eligibility for cash or tuition scholarships. Advancing seniors include Samantha Clark, Lincoln McClenahan, and Javin Lee.
In addition, juniors Oscar Ascencio and Valerie Vargas placed in the top ten, earning eligibility to travel to New York City to attend a prestigious culinary boot camp at Monroe College, sponsored by CCAP.
“These results reflect the talent, discipline, and commitment of our students, as well as the strength of our culinary program,” said Frank Tarczynski, GHC's Administrative Director, Curriculum & Instruction. “We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments.”
The CCAP Finals will take place on March 20 at Mission College, where Granada Hills Charter students will continue to compete at the highest level.
Granada Hills Charter congratulates all participating students and recognizes Culinary Instructor Dan Ma for his continued leadership in supporting student growth and achievement.
