Granada Hills Charter is proud to celebrate Kawthar Al-Atya, who recently earned third place in the 2025 National Chinese Speech Contest (NCSC) — a prestigious nationwide competition that showcases excellence in Mandarin Chinese language proficiency and cultural presentation.

The NCSC draws hundreds of talented students from across the country to demonstrate their fluency, cultural understanding, and public speaking skills in Mandarin Chinese. Kawthar’s performance stood out among a highly competitive field of students and reflects her command of the language and commitment to personal and academic excellence.

“We are incredibly proud of Kawthar,” said Ms. Maggie Chen, one of GHC's TK-8 Mandarin teachers. “She put in countless hours preparing and refining her speech. Her success is a testament to her drive and resilience.”

Her achievement was recognized during the school’s Scotty Says assembly, where the GHC community celebrated her milestone moment.

Please join us in congratulating Kawthar on this accomplishment!
