Granada Hills Charter (GHC) is thrilled to partner with Mathnasium for Summer Transition Academy (STA) math support. This partnership aims to provide essential foundational math support to select incoming students throughout our STA program on our Zelzah Campus.
Recognizing that students have varied and specific gaps in their math knowledge, GHC has taken a proactive approach to address these challenges. Through our collaboration with Mathnasium of Granada Hills, each student undergoes a thorough assessment to identify their unique learning needs. Mathnasium creates customized learning plans tailored to each student's requirements based on these assessments. This one-on-one instruction ensures that students feel empowered, setting them up for success in their math courses.
Numbers Speak for Themselves
Our partnership with Mathnasium reaches a substantial number of students, serving 143 students at our Devonshire Campus in grades TK-8 and 442 students at our Zelzah Campus in our high school program. In addition to utilizing traditional paper and pencil for student work, the integration of tablets for grading purposes ensures efficiency and accuracy in tracking student progress.
Proven Success
Our collaboration with Mathnasium over the past two years has yielded remarkable results. Teachers report that students love the Mathnasium program, feel more confident, and find it more effective than other math support programs. The impact is profound, with students who previously struggled in math achieving "A" grade reporting and even opting to take an optional fourth year in math. These success stories underscore the power of our community partnership.
