Readmission of Expelled Students

READMISSION OF EXPELLED STUDENTS: The decision to readmit a pupil previously expelled from GHC shall be at the discretion of the Governing Board following a meeting with the Executive Director or designee (Administrative Director), the pupil and parent/guardian or representative to determine whether the pupil has successfully completed the rehabilitation plan and to determine whether the pupil continues to pose a threat to others or will be disruptive to the school environment. The Executive Director or Designee will make a recommendation to the Governing Board following the meeting regarding his/her recommendation. The Board shall then make a final decision regarding reinstatement during closed session of a public meeting, reporting out any actions taken during closed session as required of the Brown Act. The pupil’s readmission is also contingent upon GHC’s capacity at the time the student seeks readmission. These procedures will be made available to the pupil and his/her parent or guardian at the time the expulsion order is issued.
