Daily Flushing Requirements for Drinking Fountains and Faucets

DAILY FLUSHING REQUIREMENTS FOR DRINKING FOUNTAINS AND FAUCETS: As required, all fixtures and fountains supplying potable water or used for food preparation shall be flushed for a minimum of 30 seconds prior to the first use of the day. A log is maintained in the Plant Manager’s Office and is available for review upon request at the Plant Manager’s Office. Fixtures and faucets that have been labeled “Hand Wash Only – Do not drink from faucet” are not flushed on a daily basis and should not be used as a drinking water or food preparation source.
