Shining a Light on Future Tech Leaders: Congrats to the NCWIT Award Winners!

The National Center for Women & Information (NCWIT) is one of the farthest-reaching networks of change that focus on advancing innovations by correcting underrepresentation in computing. The NCWIT organization honors grade 9-12 women, genderqueer, or non-binary students for their computing-related achievements and interests, and encourages them to pursue their passions.

The organization selects Award recipients based on their aptitude and aspirations in technology and computing. This is demonstrated through computing experience, computing-related activities, leadership experience, tenacity in the face of barriers to access, and future plans. So, congratulations to award winners Angela, Lana, and Maymoona! Angela Yang was recognized as a Los Angeles Affiliate Winner and given a National Honorable Mention. Meanwhile, Lana Thyen achieved a Rising Star award (Los Angeles Affiliate) and Maymoona Khan received an Honorable Mention (Los Angeles Affiliate) as well.
