General Registration Information
A variety of GHC Summer School classes are available to students who are currently enrolled at GHC and/or who are registered to enroll at GHC in the Fall of 2022. Students entering grade nine must enroll in Summer Transition Academy (STA); however, they may take accelerated math courses. Students must be fully immunized and vaccinated against COVID-19 to access in-person summer school classes.
Summer school registration will take place June 9 through June 10: For all sessions, 3-week and 6 week

Grade 12: June 7, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Grade 11: June 8, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Grade 10: June 9, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Grades 10-12: June 10, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Registration Procedure for Summer School:

Students shall report to Highlander Hall to queue up. Once scanned in, counselors will meet with students starting at 8:00 a.m. by counselor and scan time.

Class availability is determined by the position in the queue. Students should be prepared for long lines and a possible wait of two hours or more. Students are responsible for bringing water/snacks and reading materials. Summer school registration cannot be done in advance. Patience is appreciated.
Late Registration:

Students may register on June 13 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for any remaining classes with available space.

Students absent on the first day of class will lose their summer school schedule and may re-register for classes with available space from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 13. No registration priority will be given to these students.

No students will be enrolled after June 14, 2022.

GHC HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO TAKE SUMMER CLASSES AT OTHER INSTITUTIONS are required to obtain prior approval from their counselor before taking classes if they wish to apply the credits earned towards high school graduation. Students without prior authorization from their current school counselor will not earn high school credit. For more information, see your counselor.
Courses are available to GHC students who:

Earned a mark of “D” or FAIL in a course required for graduation

Need to take a class to earn a 2021 diploma

Need bilingual/ELL instruction for English/Math proficiency

Need a prerequisite for a Fall 2022 class

Want to accelerate in math or visual and performing arts

Need to take a class for Fall 2022 schedule flexibility
