High School Program Chamber Singers Shine at WorldStrides' Festival of Gold in San Francisco
Dr. Desiree Balfour, DMA

From March 23-26, the Chamber Singers of Granada Hills Charter's high school program left for San Francisco to participate in WorldStrides' Festival of Gold.

The choir performed at the Davies Symphony Hall, where they delivered a thirty-five-minute performance. Their dedication and hard work paid off as they were awarded a unanimous Superior rating from the judges.

Not only did they showcase their own repertoire of three pieces but they also collaborated with three instrumental ensembles participating in the Festival of Gold, highlighting our Chamber Singers' talent but also fostering meaningful connections with fellow musicians.

The experience of performing at such a venue alongside peers is one that our students will cherish for a lifetime. It not only provided them with an opportunity to showcase their musical prowess but also served as a valuable learning experience, pushing them to strive for greater heights and fostering a sense of camaraderie and collaboration.

We couldn't be more proud of our Chamber Singers and their achievement at the Festival of Gold. Congratulations to each member of the ensemble, as well as to our dedicated music faculty for their guidance and support.

As we celebrate this accomplishment, let us continue to support and nurture the artistic talents of all our students, ensuring that they have the opportunity to shine brightly on both local and international stages.
