Seniors at one of the specified high schools or members of the Boys & Girls Club (VICA member clubs only), this scholarship could be yours!
What is the Melvyn A. Kohn Memorial Scholarship?
The Melvyn A. Kohn Memorial Scholarship, established by the Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA) Foundation, aims to support and empower students who demonstrate a keen interest in the business community and have actively participated in their academic and extracurricular pursuits. This scholarship not only recognizes achievements but also provides a financial boost toward students' educational journey.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
Seniors at one of the following high schools or educational institutions are eligible to apply:
- Boys & Girls Club Members (VICA member clubs only)
- CHAMPS Charter High School of the Arts
- El Camino Real Charter High School
- Granada Hills Charter School
- Harvard-Westlake School
- International School of Los Angeles
- The Buckley School
Scholarship Requirements:
To be considered for the Melvyn A. Kohn Memorial Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Display a clear interest in the business community through both academic involvement and extracurricular activities.
- Attend one of the specified schools or be a member of the Boys & Girls Club within VICA member organizations.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 to exhibit consistent academic dedication.
- Craft a well-written 400–500-word essay on the provided prompt, showcasing your passion and thoughts on the topic.
- Be a senior student with an expected graduation in 2024, ready to embark on the next exciting phase of your educational journey.
- The selected student must be available to participate in VICA's Annual Meeting on December 8, 2023. This event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Airtel Plaza Hotel. Notably, two free tickets will be provided for the student and a guest, offering the opportunity to attend the event and receive the scholarship in person.
