Seeing my parents’ efforts to provide the best schooling option possible for my sister and me emphasized the importance of obtaining a solid educational foundation that would lead to a brighter future. Here’s how I did it, and why it matters.
Granada Hills Charter boasts tens of thousands of Highlanders throughout the United States and across the world.
Founded in 1960, more than 60 graduating classes have received diplomas prepared to enter colleges and the workforce.
The School continues to grow and maintain an active directory of over 15,000 alumni through our reunions and networking events.
With the help of our alumni, our community generates $40,000+ annually in charitable giving and fundraising efforts.
Join Our Mission
We enrich Granada Hills Charter’s (GHC) impact by serving as a gateway for alums of all identities, backgrounds, and experiences – across the globe and in our neighborhoods – in order to create and deepen belonging as a GHC Highlander. The purpose of the GHC Alumni Association is to:
- Friend-raise and set up networks of communication among GHC alumni.
- Act as a resource for class reunions and events.
- Develop and maintain the Highlanders Alumni contact information for events and communications.
- Develop projects that involve alumni such as campus improvement, booster activities, and classroom volunteers.
- Act as a resource for the school in providing speakers, volunteers, job shadows, and funding.
- Work with the GHC Excellence Fund to raise money for student scholarships, school grants, and athletic, art and academic programs.
All Highlander graduates and former teachers of Granada Hills Charter (GHC) are automatically members of the GHC Alumni Association. We do not have a paid membership, but request that you all SUBSCRIBE to our member list to stay connected.
Our Legacy, Their Future
The Excellence Fund helps our students and staff achieve great things. At GHC, we have a goal to elevate our enrichment opportunities for students during these challenging times. Our students have had to sacrifice so much by being isolated from their peers and our goal is ensure our students have the resources they need. Contributions support the operating budget of Granada Hills Charter High School and enable us to offer the high standard of education required to prepare students for life. Since becoming an independent charter school in 2003, we have used our resources to distinguish ourselves as a leader in public education.
