Our admissions process for TK-8 and 9-12 programs, in accordance with the School's Charter under Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), is structured in two (2) parts: (1) Open enrollment lottery for all grades TK-12; and (2) Residential enrollment for grades 9-12.
- All families with students in grades TK-8 must follow an application process for the chance to enroll at Granada Hills Charter (GHC) through an open enrollment lottery drawing.
- All families with students grades 9-12 who do not live within the pre-charter residential enrollment boundary must follow an application process for the chance to enroll at GHC through an open enrollment lottery drawing.
The Open Enrollment Lottery applies to all TK-8 students as well as students in grades 9-12 who do not live within the pre-charter residential enrollment boundary. There is not a residential enrollment option for our TK-8 program. Families must follow the application process for the chance to enroll at Granada Hills Charter (GHC) through an open enrollment lottery drawing. More information regarding the lottery date and late entry applications can be found in this article.
GHC has a COVID-19 vaccination requirement for students ages 12 and up. Please see our website for the most updated information in regards to age and requirements.
The Open Enrollment lottery application window for the 2022-2023 school year will be open from October 26 at 9:00 a.m. through December 13 at 3:00 p.m.
TK-8 Open Enrollment (Please note we do not have 5th grade)
High School Open Enrollment (Grades 9-12)
Our virtual lottery drawing will be held on January 7. The time is still to be determined.
Students living within the Los Angeles Unified School District are given preference in the drawing over students living in a non-Los Angeles Unified School District.
Families must submit a separate open enrollment application for each sibling. Our TK-8 program will offer grades in Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten (K), 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8, and students must be entering one of the grades offered in order to apply.
Note: We will not have grade 5 until the Fall of 2023.
A limited number of spaces are available. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available spaces, a random selection process (i.e. lottery drawing) will be held. Only one entry per student is allowed, applicants will be disqualified if more than one entry is submitted per student.
Late entry applications will not be eligible for the Lottery drawing. However, late entries will be placed on a waitlist in the order they are received. Fill out a post-lottery application if you would still like to apply or if your application was submitted after the deadline.
Lottery Date & Time
While the time is still to be determined, our virtual lottery drawing for both our TK-8 and 9-12 programs will be held on January 7.
A waitlist will be established and made available within one week of the drawing. Students on the waitlist will be contacted by email as openings become available. If you do not know your waitlist number, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
