Enrollment
Thank you for your interest in attending Granada Hills Charter (GHC), an independent public school dedicated to preparing students for a 21st century workforce and life.
Here are 3 things you need to know about enrolling in, or applying to, Granada Hills Charter:
1. Residential enrollment only applies to high school students who reside within the pre-charter residential boundary established prior to our conversion into a charter school. Residents may begin enrolling on October 26, 2021.
2. The Open Enrollment Lottery applies to all TK-8 students as well as students in grades 9-12 who do not live within the pre-charter residential enrollment boundary. There is not a residential enrollment option for our TK-8 program.
3. Open Enrollment Lottery Application Window begins October 26, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. and closes December 13, 2021 3:00 p.m.
For Returning Students and New Students who have already enrolled
Details about the registration process will be provided during the spring semester. Registration must be completed in order to receive the fall class schedule, student ID card, and locker assignment (if applicable).
If you do not complete registration prior to the start of school your class schedule will be dropped and you will be unable to attend class on August 11 until registration is completed.
A variety of GHC Summer School classes are available to students who are currently enrolled at GHC and/or who are registered to enroll at GHC in the Fall of 2022. Students entering grade nine must enroll in Summer Transition Academy (STA); however, they may take accelerated math courses. Students must be fully immunized and vaccinated against COVID-19 to access in-person summer school classes.
The Summer Transition Academy (STA) is a GHC graduation requirement. Students are enrolled in STA during their scheduled counseling appointment. Students will earn two and a half elective credits per class for the successful completion of STA.
For more information, contact the Office of Instruction or your student’s counselor.
The Open Enrollment Lottery applies to all TK-8 students as well as students in grades 9-12 who do not live within the pre-charter residential enrollment boundary. There is not a residential enrollment option for our TK-8 program. Families must follow the application process for the chance to enroll at Granada Hills Charter (GHC) through an open enrollment lottery drawing. More information regarding the lottery date and late entry applications can be found in this article.
Residential enrollment only applies to high school students who reside within the pre-charter residential boundary established prior to our conversion into a charter school. These students need to meet the requirements of residential enrollment and follow the instructions set forth in this article in order to attend Granada Hills Charter.
